Job Requirements

As Pre-Sales Technical Solution Engineer you will work alongside your regional sales team for DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) by leading the sales cycle from a technical perspective. You will be responsible for identifying the technical requirements within an opportunity, matching them to Lakeside Software solutions, and accelerating the sales cycle by positioning and demonstrating market differentiators. You will provide product demonstrations and evaluation proof of concepts to Lakeside prospects / customers (sometimes alongside partners). You will be able to talk and explain complicated technical solutions and pitch them at the required level of your audience with your end goal being to convince them to buy, resell or recommend Lakeside Software solutions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • BA/BS Degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 2 to 3 years of work experience
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization and maintain a high level of customer service at all times
  • Proven successful Sales Engineering background
  • Proven ability to generate revenue, including sales target accountability
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, organization, presentation, and project management skills
  • Experience delivering solutions to large enterprises (Fortune 500, FTSE 100, DAX30, MDax 50 etc.)
  • Technical documentation and presentation experience required
  • Ability to conduct meetings, document actions and follow up with all parties involved
  • Ability to troubleshoot & analyse software
  • Ability to work individually and within a highly collaborative team setting
  • Previous experience of the software sales market
  • Fluency in German and English

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Professional certifications in technology like Microsoft, Citrix or VMware such as MCSE, CCEA or VCP
  • Experience of transformational outsourcing and understanding of the principles and challenges involved
  • Broad understanding of ICT technologies covering many of the following:
    • Desktop technologies and solutions
    • Windows Server Technologies
    • Virtualisation Technologies and Techniques such as server based computing, desktop virtualisation.
    • Enterprise Disk Technologies, e.g. SAN, NAS
    • LAN/WAN Networks
  • Understanding of relational databases is a plus, SQL query language and scripting, Microsoft SQL Server, and other related Microsoft Business Intelligence technologies (Reporting Services, Integration Services, Analysis Services)
