Bloomfield Hills, MI ― September 8, 2016 ― Lakeside Software, provider of the leading workspace analytics solution, today announced that it has won the Best of VMworld 2016 Judges’ Choice Award for Disruptive Technology. Ask SysTrack, an insight engine that leverages IBM Watson cognitive services to enable a natural language interface for the SysTrack Workspace Analytics platform, was recognized at the VMworld 2016 conference held last week in Las Vegas and sponsored by VMware, Inc.
Ask SysTrack is an integrated component of the SysTrack platform that applies relevancy methods to describe, discover, organize and analyze data to allow for information to be delivered interactively and in the context of the user at timely business moments. With Ask SysTrack, users can interactively get answers to any question about IT with natural-language queries and, as such, instantly get access to real-time and historical insights, trends, and information.
Ask SysTrack “uses natural language queries to allow users to search across all [the company’s] products and data that it collects. This innovation saves time and lets users discover the most appropriate data more efficiently than searching manually,” stated the independent judges consisting of experts and editors from TechTarget’s SearchServerVirtualization.com™ that selected the winners of the Best of VMworld 2016 Awards.
Judges did not accept nominations for the Disruptive Technology category, but had the option to recognize an innovative product that has the potential to create a new market or disrupt an existing market with a new technology. Judges considered all nominated products, as well as products on display at VMworld 2016 that were not nominated for the awards – including products that have not yet been released.

Piero Chiodo, vice president, Client Care Services, GTS Mobility Services, IBM: “By combining IBM Watson cognitive services with SysTrack workspace analytics, the Ask SysTrack insight engine puts IT insights at the fingertips of business users exactly when they need them. The more IT data that organizations collect, the harder it is to find the data they need. Just as consumer search engines enable easy discovery of information, so IT departments and workspace service providers must also create value for business users through a similar means of natural language and contextual search.”
Brinton Baker, chief marketing officer, Lakeside Software: “The Best of VMworld Awards recognize the most exceptional products, and it is an honor to be the 2016 Judges’ Choice award winner for Disruptive Technology. Ask SysTrack is the latest example of our commitment to continuous innovation in the pursuit of making IT more responsive, agile, and productive.”
