Driven by Data: How Lakeside Software and Megennis Motorsport Win with Data

Lakeside sponsorship highlights the importance of analyzing real-time metrics to boost performance and cross the finish line

What does a leading digital employee experience platform have in common with one of the most-highly regarded motorsport companies in the industry? A commitment to harnessing the most comprehensive data set to deliver optimal performance.

That commitment to data is what drove Lakeside Software to sponsor Megennis Motorsport this year. Robert Megennis, the managing director and driver of Megennis Motorsport, has more than 55 top-five finishes in seven years of professional racing in sports cars, single-seaters, and prototypes.

Meet Our Driver

Megennis started racing go carts when he was 9 years old and fell in love with the speed, precision, and competition. He has raced in the F1600, USF2000 series, Pro Mazda, and Indy Lights classes. He currently races for Turner Motorsport in the GS class.

 Leveraging Data for Success

“Data is essential in my racing,” Megennis said. “I’ve raced different cars with up to 350 data points, fed in real time to engineers on the pit lane and remote from the track. It is critical to have this information live so the team can make split-second decisions about my driving, car setup, and race strategy.”

Megennis credits his decision-making and racing success to the 300-plus data sources that provide him with a complete picture to achieve ultimate performance. “Everything that happens in and around the car is measured and recorded, from car handling to aerodynamics to track conditions,” he said. “The amount of data we utilize has been paramount to our success as a team, just like the amount of data Lakeside analyzes is paramount to the success of its customers.”

Lakeside collects more than 10,000 data points every 15 seconds to offer complete visibility into an organization’s IT estate. Lakeside’s platform analyzes this data to display a snapshot of overall IT health for top-level strategic decision-making.

“I founded Lakeside more than two decades ago to help IT teams gather data that would better support business decisions. Since then, we have grown to collect and analyze from millions of endpoints for our enterprise customers,” said Mike Schumacher, Lakeside founder and board member. “We’re excited to partner with Megennis Motorsport because they share our understanding of the importance of data.”

Real-time data and actionable insights drive Lakeside and Megennis’ sound decision-making and ability to rise above a challenging field of competitors.
